MMP POLICY VISION & REFORM

CORE VALUES

Ten values. One test: does this make Australia better for the people who live in it? Sovereignty, truth, accountability, family, community, healing, dignity, fairness, the land, and courage.

The Ten Values — What They Mean In Practice

Sovereignty

Australia processes what it extracts before exporting. Infrastructure owned by Australians. Energy policy made in Canberra, not Washington. No foreign government or multinational corporation directs Australian policy. The country controls its own resources, infrastructure, energy, food, and future.

Truth

The meth epidemic has been destroying regional communities for thirty years. Governments have known. Truth is the precondition for everything. You cannot fix what you will not name. You cannot fund what you will not cost honestly. The platform names the problems other parties have refused to name.

Family

The family is not a unit of economic production. It is the foundation of Australian society. Every policy in this platform is tested against one question: does this make it easier or harder to raise a family in Australia? If it makes it harder, the policy is wrong — and the platform reflects that.

Community

The best places to raise a family are country towns. They have been hollowed out and underfunded for forty years. MMP builds more of them — along SBC corridors, powered by renewable energy, anchored by healing and purpose. Community is not a metaphor. It is a physical infrastructure that has to be built and maintained.

Healing

The veteran who cannot sleep. The farmer thinking thoughts he has not told anyone. The mother whose teenager is struggling. Healing is not charity — it is the most fiscally rational investment a government can make. A person healed represents a $120,000–$260,000 fiscal swing per year. Healing institutions woven into corridor towns. Free psychology. Green Zones in every community.

Dignity

The person on JobSeeker is not lazy. The NDIS recipient is not a burden. The newly-arrived migrant is not a problem. Dignity means the system treats every Australian as an end in themselves, not a means to a budget outcome. Debt notices in plain language. Humans review automated decisions. Robodebt cannot happen again.

Fairness — A Dual Relationship

The mining company that employs Australians and builds infrastructure deserves respect — MMP delivers fast approvals, locked rates, sovereign infrastructure at cost. In return, a fair share of what comes out of the ground. Everyone wins when the deal is honest. Fairness runs both ways: respect the mining company, respect the nation.

The Land

Australia rests on 65,000 years of custodianship. The land is not a resource to extract and export. It is a country to inhabit, restore, and honour. The SBC corridors restore degraded land. The billion-tree program rebuilds the landscape. The healing towns practise regenerative agriculture. The mining royalty includes a 2% Traditional Owner share — constitutionally guaranteed.

Accountability

Power without accountability is the definition of corruption. Those who hold public trust and betray it face consequences under MMP. Named. Investigated. Prosecuted where evidence supports it. The nation is not for sale. Royal Commissions with coercive powers. Federal ICAC. Lobbying register enforced. Whistleblower protection. Truth in political advertising.

Courage

Saying what other parties will not say. Doing what other parties will not do. Costing honestly. Naming the problem. Publishing the platform. Standing for election without donor money. Repositioning AUKUS. Legislating a Bill of Rights. Building the SBC. Returning the proceeds of the ground to the nation. Courage is the value that operationalises every other value on this list.

The Test

Ten values are easy to write. The discipline is in applying them. Every policy in this platform has been tested against the ten values. Every law an MMP government legislates will be tested against them. Every regulation, every program, every spending decision. The test is published. The test is public. If a future MMP minister fails the test, the failure will be on the People's Portal before the minister can spin it.
